If I Had A Hammer

For your consideration…

Wow…I  have internet again. This is the third day I have tried to write this blog. Knock on wood, three is the charm.

This message came in via the song, “If I Had A Hammer.” by Pete Seeger and Lee Hayes.

If I had a hammer, I’d hammer in the morning
I’d hammer in the evening, all over this land
I’d hammer out danger, I’d hammer out a warning
I’d hammer out love between my brothers and my sisters all over this land

The song is about activism. Certainly there is a lot of that still going on today.

Our message today via this song is again about truth. A lot of people have a rough idea about what a group or organization is about. A slogan or a few phrases sound good similar to our own beliefs. So they jump on the band wagon without fully vetting the group. Or perhaps, it is a group that we find has strayed from the beliefs we originally joined for.

Activism is good until it is not. It is good when it is coming from truth. We have a hammer. Each of us. Each of us can do our share to help the Universe, Mother Earth and each other. But for it to be effective, it needs to come from the truth and love from our soul.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Remember…You are the keeper of your light. Wherever you go, there can be no darkness.

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Use your hammer with love and truth.

What made me smile yesterday…

-A beautiful day.

-We decided to leave the mountains due to forest fires. We wanted to make sure we could get out while the roads we needed were open.

-Jody, Dianne and I had a great dinner at a steakhouse and then watched a good movie.

-Catching up with Alex.
