For your consideration…

It would be interesting to know how many people find “unknowing” uncomfortable versus comfortable. At first thought, I would have said I am uncomfortable, but then as I thought more about it, I often choose a more go with the flow approach. For example, I am traveling with a friend. Frequently, she will call to say how about doing this or that. I am pretty much up for anything until it seems like too much. Then I have to say, “I would rather wait and see how things unfold and how we feel.” She is completely ok with that.

I suspect we all teeter back and forth between comfort levels of knowing and unknowing. I often think of it as that moment when you just have to trust and “let go.” I did a corporate ropes course, and part of it was exactly that. While on a high wire, hanging on to one rope while reaching for another that was just out of reach. At some point you just have to go for it.

I give these examples because that is the essence of today’s message. Transitions can be hard or scary because of the in-between “knowing and unknowing.” Rather than focusing on that we are asked to consider the excitement and opportunities that wait for us in the unknown.

That is the HOPE (and fun). And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Remember…You are the keeper of the light. Wherever you go, there can be no darkness.

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?’

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Be excited about what you “don’t” know.

What made me smile yesterday…

-A beautiful day.

-A haircut.

-Some reservations made.

-Catching up with Shannon, Beth, and Mojdeh.

-Mammogram and bone density done.

-A good mystery.

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
