For your consideration…

Our message came in today exactly as, “Try something new.”

I immediately thought of my sister, Lori, and her husband, Rod. They recently started beading because there was a project they wanted to do. Will they continue with it? Who knows but they did something new. I recently decided to try starting my garden from seeds instead of plants. Will I be successful? Who knows, but it is worth a try.

We are never too young or too old to try new things. All too often we are stuck in our comfort zone and either too afraid or lazy to step out of it. We are not being asked to do anything outrageous. It can be anything i.e.; a new genre of books or music, different food, different restaurants, a new vacation spot, a new sports activity, a different walking route, a new craft or hobby, etc.

It doesn’t matter what we decide. Trying new things is a good step in changing…expanding,..our outlook, and perspective. It grabs our focus away from things we are dwelling on and perhaps should let go. We may even meet new friends.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Remember…You are the keeper of the light. Wherever you go, there can be no darkness.

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water, 64zo. a day.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Try something new. Step out of our comfort zone.

What made me smile yesterday…

-A beautiful day.

-Catching up with May and Jody.

-I ushered at Hill Auditorium for a beautiful concert.

-Ann Arbor seemed especially crazy. Then I realized it was the Hash Bash.

-A good book.

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
