For your consideration…

I have a note card from a friend who passed last year. She liked to write thoughts down that had meaning for her and she wanted to think about them some more. She would then add water colors to the card. I have one of those cards and it is about reacting versus responding.

I love the above image but this is what Kathy wrote. “Stop! Respond rather than react to restore balance.” Indeed, when we react, we are off balance. Kathy went on to write how we should do this.

The first step is to stop.

2. Breathe.

3. Observe thoughts and feelings.

4. Proceed slowly, mindfully.

She went on to write that this breaks the stress response. And when we do this consistently, we build stress resilience.

Perhaps this is something we might consider and adopting in our stressful lives.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Remember…You are the keeper of your light. Wherever you go, there can be no darkness.

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is the next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Don’t react. Respond.

What made me smile yesterday…

-A beautiful day.

-Lunch with Dianne.

-A big snow storm.

-A warm toasty home.

-A good book.

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
