Reach Out and Touch Someone | Plans Of Hope

For your consideration…

I could not resist using this old advertisement poster. It is the epitome of the joy of communication.

Our message today is about “reaching out and touching someone.” Of course, we know the joy we get from hearing from those we love and care about. That’s good. We are reminded to keep that communication going.

But today’s message is about reaching out to those we don’t know or don’t know well. As soon as this message came in, I thought about my 4-year-old grandson, Conner. I took him to Chuck E. Cheese Tuesday afternoon. There were lots of kids there, but most came with someone else. I watched him play for a while, often joining in with others. Then I watched him approach a little girl and ask her if she wanted to ride some rides with him. She said yes, and he promptly tapped his card to pay for the Shelby Cobra car ride. They both got in, and he let her do the driving. What a gentleman!

The reason that example came to me was that Conner did exactly what we are being asked to do. We are being asked to reach out to others who may be lonely. Even if they aren’t, it is good to meet new people. Get fresh perspectives. Learn new things. Share, etc.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Remember…You are the keeper of your light. Wherever you go, there can be no darkness.

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Reach out ot others.

What made me smile yesterday…

-A beautiful day.

-I had my first new book club meeting. It was fun.

-Catching up with Vicki, Lori, and Dianne.

-A new book.

-I got the rest of my aerogarden plants in the ground and the aerogarden put away until the winter.

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
