For your consideration…

For some of us, this message will be tough. It is about moving on, moving forward. Sounds right, right? But what about when we have been severely wronged?

Our message is about justifiable anger. It is about moving forward despite being horribly wronged. I am going to give a couple of examples.

The first example involves war. I will pick World War III. An unprovoked attack on Pearl Harbor by the Japanese took us into a war. That was 83 years ago. Despite this horrific act, the US only occupied Japan for 7 years after the war. Slowly, over time, they became a valuable ally. This would not have been possible without forward thinking, letting go, and moving on.

I will give a personal example. My uncle had an affair with a woman whom both my father and grandfather also had affairs with. Unlike my father and grandfather, my uncle left his wife and child and married her. As a child, I never felt good around her. She just didn’t have good energy. As an adult, I had zero respect for her and chose to spend as little time as possible around her. My grandmother did not have the same choice. Once I asked her, “How can you stand to be around her?” Grandma responded, “I have a choice. If I want to see my son, I have to tolerate her as well.”

We have to move on. Grudges, no matter how justified, will not serve us forever. We have to find a way forward, HOPEfully, to a peaceful and productive relationship.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Remember…You are the keeper of your light. Wherever you go, there can be no darkness.

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Let go of grudges and move on.

What made me smile yesterday…

-A beautiful day.

-More cards made.

-Alex, Conner, and Owen came for dinner.

-Catching up with Shannon.

-A good book.

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
