For your consideration…

My first reaction to today’s message was to laugh. Do you remember when we were children and someone would call us names how we would shout back, “Takes one to know one.?” Remember how good it felt to hurl those words back at our offender

It seems like a childish expression because of our experience. But in reality, it is utterly true.

We are able to recognize good and bad traits in others because we recognize them in ourselves. It is the mirror looking back at you.

Think about it. I am sure we all know someone that we think as gullible. They are gullible because they do not possess or recognize some qualities in others. There are good and bad sides to this.

The same goes with us when we recognize the ugliness, meanness, selfishness, etc. in others. While we recognize them because we have them ourselves, it does not mean that we engage them. The part of our life learning experience is to control those parts of self that are not a kind and loving. Instead we are here to learn to grown the best of ourselves that comes from a kind, truthful and loving self. And so it is.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Remember…You are the keeper of the light. Wherever you go, there can be no darkness.

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of a.?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-The mirror image has a purpose. It is a useful tool.

What made me smile yesterday…

-A beautiful day.

-A great school day.

-A useful trip to White Lake.

-A good book.

-Catching up with Jody, Mary, and Alex.

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
