Competitive Swimming 101

For your consideration…

Today’s message is about competition. As I reflected on what the root of the message, I was reminded of my daughter swimming.

Early on, before age 5, she was taught always to try to beat her best time. That was the goal. In swimming, your performance contributes to the team’s success, whether you win or not. Sometimes in small programs, simply having a swimmer to fill a lane helps the team.

That is our message today. We come with a life purpose. It doesn’t matter what it is. We don’t have to compare it to anyone else’s. We don’t have to compete in goals other people set. Our competition is with ourselves. Our goal is to fulfill our life purpose to the best of our ability. That is how we contribute to humanity and the Universe at large.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Remember…You are the keeper of your light. Wherever you go, there can be no darkness.

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Be the best you can be for yourself.

What made me smile yesterday…

-A beautiful day.

-Happy Hour at Real Seafood with Pam.

-Catching up with Dianne.

-A good Bible study with Cindy.

-A good book.

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
