For your consideration…

Often, even recently, our messages ask us to pay attention to what is put in front of you. What suddenly grabs your attention? What is random? Etc.

A week our so ago, I noticed this substantial “weed” growing in my herb garden. Before I pulled it, I thought that I better look it up and identify it. I was surprised to learn it was a sunflower. I didn’t plant it. I know that what is out of place in your garden is supposed to be considered a weed, but I left it to see what would happen.

Today I was blessed by this beautiful, healthy, strong sunflower. However it was delivered to my garden, I consider it a blessing. But it was random. It did get me attention and I needed to find out what sunflowers symbolize when they “show up.”

In Ted Andrews book, Nature-Speak the keynote of sunflowers is, “time of happiness and well-being, healing energy strong.” After the last couple of weeks we have had, this is so welcome.

The sunflower has a strong hydraulic system in its stem that allows it to turn its head to the sun. This reminds us to do the same, keep our eyes and spirit focused on the light. Sunflowers are vigorous, erect, and fast-growing. They are good for us, providing us with edible seeds and oil. Native Americans planted them to ward off malaria and other diseases.

Sunflowers carry the strong energy of the sun. They help us grow and manifest opportunities. They reminds us of our own inner light and power. Remember, that wherever you go, if you have light, there can be no darkness.

We are well, strong and can self-actualize.

Sunflowers have showed up to “alert us to up-coming opportunities for happiness, healing, and well-being.” I’ll take that.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…”I am loved.”

-Remember…You are the keeper of your light. Wherever you go, there can be no darkness.

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Welcome the sunflower.

What made me smile yesterday…

-A beautiful day.

-Alex and James kept Louie for me.

-Cousin Jimmy took my sister, Lori, and me out for a day on the boat cruising the Black River, St. Clair River, and Lake Huron. It was full of fun, laughs, good conversations, and relaxation.

-I listened to my book club book on audio on my long drive there and back.

-Finished me other book when I got home before going to sleep.

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
