Here's Why Everything You Thought You Knew About Volunteering Is Wrong - Worldly Adventurer

For your consideration…

I am not sure if we have ever had a message calling us to volunteer. We talk about kindness and love, being better people, etc.

Volunteering not only helps others, it also helps us to grow. It allows us to observe different perspectives and see life differently through the eyes of others. Jessica Davey wrote:

“Make volunteering an integral part of your life, and you will know great happiness and joy.”

There are many ways to volunteer through many different organizations. We are encouraged to give some a try. If it is not a good fit, find a different one. Or we can create our own volunteering opportunities.

Volunteering is not measured in the hours or magnitude of tasks. It is measured by the love and Spirit we bring to it. We are called to find ways to volunteer  that fit in our lives.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Remember…You are the keeper of your light. Wherever you go, there can be no darkness.

=Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Volunteer.

What made me smile yesterday…

-A beautiful day.

-Getting Alex, James, Owen and Conner to the airport. It was not the easiest trip but they made is with time to spare and I got to spend some alone time in the car with Alex as we returned to her house to pick up the stroller and head back to the airport.

-Some yardwork done.

-Catching up with Jackie, Lori, and Cathy.

-A new book series.

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
