For your consideration…

When today’s message came in, I immediately thought about volunteering at our local Safehouse. Domestic violence usually happens over time. Over time. the survivor is broken down until sometimes they feel incapable of doing even the most mundane tasks. It is the same with people who suffer from depression. Ever7 little thing seems overwhelming.

When I would visit survivors, I wold encourage them to do one little thing. If they can’t get out of bed today, force themselves to sit on the side of it for five minutes. If they can’t get dressed, decide to put on one or both socks. Just do one little thing. Then…most importantly…count it as a win. Be proud of yourself.

This is a good example of today’s message. When we are overwhelmed, when we are feeling “stuck”, do one little thing. Check one little thing off of your list. AND count it as a win.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…I am loved.

-Remember…You are the keeper of the light. Wherever you go, there can be no darkness.

-Meditate/pray..ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Do at least one little thing on your to do list.

What made me smile yesterday…

-A beautiful day.

-Catching up with

-Catching up with Gordie, Lori, Michelle, Cathy, and Mary.

-A good mystery.

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
