For your consideration…

We all do it. We wear masks to adapt to the situation we are in and the people we are with. Consider that there is a lot more to us than the person we present in a job interview. Or consider how many times we have changed our opinion of someone as we got to know them better. No doubt, people say the same thing about us.

Why do we wear masks? Why don’t we just be ourselves? It is fear. It is fear of being rejected. Fear that we don’t measure up, etc.

But if we step back and think about it. Do we really want our fake selves accepted? It is burdensome to keep up facades. On the flip side, do we want to be friends with a fake version of themselves? When we give it deep thought, we realize we don’t have time to be fake or deal with fake people. If the “real” self does not fit, it isn’t meant to be.

We are reminded today to be real. Drop our masks and be our true selves.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Remember…You are the keeper of your light. Wherever you go, there can be no darkness.

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step fo rmy highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Be yourself. You are good enough.
