For your consideration…

Sometimes I get messages that tag onto another because I missed something in the first message. This message is sort of a tag onto our message about stepping out of our comfort zone and trying new things. We are reminded that we can get complacent. “Our “normal” is comforting. But today’s message is not a “miss” on that message. It stands alone.

This message is targeted at our home. Everyone needs a place that is comforting, safe, and loving. It is a place that surrounds us with the people and things that support and provide these things. It is hard to change our home. And we shouldn’t, if indeed, it is providing all of these things. But sometimes it doesn’t. Sometimes it becomes a financial and/or task burden and a source of stress. This happened to me, and I had to face the difficult decision to move. So believe me, I understand.

There are other reasons, however, that disrupt our home life. It is the people we live with. Sometimes relationships turn toxic for us. Love is weakened. Perhaps it is lack of communication. Perhaps it is drug or alcohol abuse. Perhaps it is domestic violence that includes verbal and/or physical abuse. Even in these situations, it is hard for us to leave “home.” It seems so clear to outsiders and hard to understand, but it is difficult and sometimes terrifying to leave home.

Our message is not for us to judge. It is targeted for each of us to evaluate our own home. Is it safe, comforting, and loving? Is it a place we always want to come to? If not, we need to make the necessary changes for our own well-being.

That is the HOPE. And do it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can make…

-Affirm…“I am loved…always.”

-Remember…You are the keeper of your light. Wherever you go, there can be no darkness.

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Make sure your home is safe, comforting, and loving.

What made me smile yesterday…

-A beautiful day.

-A fun morning working at school and seeing so many of my little ones.

-Getting my new phone fixed.

-A good book.

-Catching up with Vicki, Lori, Alex, and Cathy.

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
