For your consideration…

I love today’s message. I feel today’s message. I feel its importance.

Our message is about Spirit…the living Spirit. Spirit is alive in all living things, not just people, our pets, etc. Spirit is alive in All living things, plants, animals, trees, etc. And the Spirit within all living things communicates with all living things.

We sometimes hear about people talking to their garden. Perhaps we chuckle. But the garden is alive. Our Spirits communicate. HOPEfully we not only talk to the garden, but we also listen as well.

In a mindfulness meeting yesterday we listened to a couple of poems about trees. It reminded me of a Lakota Tree Ceremony I have done several times. I readily admit that I felt silly the first time I did it until my tree communicated back to me about a book I am to write. I am a reluctant writer so my first thought was, “Ugh, not another one.” But as I paused, I felt blessed that I felt this tree’s spirit and it felt mine. Last year I asked a friend of mine, Julie, if she wanted to do it on our walk. She loved it as well. I have attached a copy of the ceremony for anyone who would like to give it a try.    Lakota Tree Ceremony

There is another part of today’s message that is very important. Spirit is NOT static. It is perpetually moving…flowing…in and out. We breathe into our Spirit and we breathe out Spirit into the Universe around us. The Spirit that surrounds us changes us and we change the Spirit as well. We are asked today to be conscious of it. Be present with it. Of course, it is automatic most of the time. But spending time fully present and attaching intentions to our Spirit and listening to the Spirit of the living things around us is very impactful.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Spend time with Spirit.

What made me smile yesterday…

-Catching up with both my girls and Mary.

-Sunshine.

-Some crafting done.

-Mindfulness zoom meeting.

-A great recipe.

-A good book.

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
