For your consideration…

So, if you read this blog, you know that ladybugs are special to me. This wasn’t always so. They became important shortly after my dad passed and I received a message from him…through another medium…that my dad was present and sends me ladybugs. Since then at virtually every major even, when I am stressed, holiday’s, etc…summer or winter…I will find a ladybug. My oldest daughter always gets them as well. They will be on the vanity as we apply make-up. They will appear in the kitchen as I prepare a dinner. They may appear on the stairs as I go up to get table linens. When we need that special show of love, they appear.

My youngest daughter was very young when my dad passed. She did not have the relationship with him that my oldest daughter did. So last night’s text message from her warmed my whole heart and brought me to happy tears. She wrote me this conversation she had with her son, my grandson, Conner who is 3.

“Conner had another ladybug in his room and he asked me to take it outside. I told him I would take it out when I left his room. When I was leaving his room he said, “Hey, Mommy, make sure that when you  get him in the grass, you wave goodbye.” Then when I was almost out of the room he said, “Hey, Mommy, make sure you love the ladybug.””

This is a perfect example of how our loved ones continue to be part of our lives even after they pass. My dad through Conner’s actions and words let us know that and let us know we are loved. Again, through Conner’s words.

Again our message reminds us of our connection between heaven and earth. Ladybugs are beetles. Beetles are symbols of resurrection. They are perfect reminder of this as we approach Easter. They can also appear as a sign that we need a change, a metamorphosis. Again, just like so many of the messages we have been getting lately. Do we need to resurrect something in our life? Do we need to shed something, leave it behind? These answers are different for everyone. But for everyone, today’s message a one of great HOPE.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Remember…You are the keeper of the light. Wherever you go, there can be no darkness.

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?’

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Pay attention to signs that are put before you.

-Let go of fear and focus on HOPE for all that is yet to come.

What made me smile yesterday…

-A beautiful day.

-A fun class.

-Catching up with Alex, Mary, and Lori.

-A good Zoom meeting with DKG.

-A good book.

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
