For your consideration…

Once again today I  used a cartoon image because our message came in so fun and light-hearted.

We are constantly searching for the meaning of life and our purpose. We all do this differently. We get many messages about how to better do this. We take this very seriously.

Today’s message recognizes our efforts but reminds us to not take ourselves so seriously that we miss the fun and joy. Also, it wants to remind us to not look always be looking so deep that we miss what is on top and right in front of us.

Remember, yesterday or one of the days this week we were reminded to not only ask questions but carry on a conversation with our Guidance. I have been trying to be more conscious of this, indeed I did it with today’s message. That conversation made me laugh out loud.

When the message came in about looking for the clues that are right in front of you, I was given a couple of examples that happened to me yesterday and the day before.

The first one was when I was sitting with my husband in the doctor’s office. The doctor was testing him. When he asked him his age, my husband told him he was 31. The doctor’s head snapped up to see if my husband was joking with him. My husband saw that….noticed the clue….realizing the was the wrong answer and immediately switching it to 42. That was not the right answer either but we laughed. We laughed not because any of this illness is funny but we laughed at how he “noticed the clues” and reacted.

I was given a second example. I know I was given it because I did not see any of them….and there were many. I was having lunch with my daughter in a bar/grill we had never been to. It was right next to the out-patient surgery center sitting in the front of a shopping mall.

We had been there awhile and then Shannon says, “Oh, I get it.”

“Get what?” I asked.

She says, “This place.” I am confused. “Look at the name, look at the waitresses, look at who else is in here.”

I had missed all of it and I am not sure what first made her start looking at the “clues.”  Clearly this establishment was named and set up to attract the male population. And clearly other people had followed the clues because this was a big place and there was only 1 other female customer in there besides us. The food was good, the customer service not so much but that is probably because we were not their target clientel.  Whatever, it made me laugh and then made me laugh again when I was reminded of it this morning.

Today’s message is simple. Look at the simple clues that are right in front of us….the low hanging fruit. We don’t always have to be doing those deep dives.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…ask…“I am loved.”

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?’

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Notice what is right in front of you..see…hear…smell…feel…person…place…things.

What made me smile yesterday…

-A successful minor surgery.

-My daughter, Shannon, took me and then we had lunch together.

-A little nap.

-Wednesday euchre was fun.

-A good book.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
