For your consideration….

“Tiny Houses” are all the rage. There is a reason for that. Consciously and subconsciously we know that too much stuff negatively impacts us mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually.

Today we are asked a couple of questions. 1. What are we holding onto; spiritually, mentally, emotionally or physically? 2. Why?

Sometimes it is necessary to ask the second question…why…first before we can let go. Why can’t we let go? Perhaps we fear “lack.” I grew up poor and I am sure that has something to do with how much “stuff” I have. On the flip side, it drives me to help and share with others. Fear creates its own powerful force that makes us hold onto stuff and emotional baggage.

But there are other reasons why we hold on. Guilt can keep us stuck with what we have. Procrastination and pure laziness prevents us from letting go of stuff. You get the picture. More than likely there is a myriad of reasons that keep us holding onto what we should purge.

We are reminded today that whatever we are holding onto takes up space in our hearts, minds and homes. Our question should would I rather keep it or create the space for something better? Do I want to run in place or run to something better? Do I want to remain stagnant or grow into my potential?

We are asked to consider purging what no longer serves us. It does not matter how ie; throwing away, recycling or gifting. What is important is the space it frees up.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Let go.

What made me smile yesterday…

-Wow, Thursday may be the best day to grocery shop….choice of parking spots, no line at the bottle recycle, no wait at the cashiers.

-A good book.

-Catching up with Shannon, Mac and Jackie.

-A beautiful day…cool enough in the morning to mow the lawn and then sunny and hot in the afternoon.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
