Labor Day 2011
For your consideration…..
In the United States of America we pause on this day to celebrate labor. The labor of all both living in this world and the next.
But today we are also asked to pause and reflect on our own labor and the fruits of it. We aren’t celebrating the work. We are celebrating our labor. We are honoring the part of ourselves we have put into the work. Celebrate you. Celebrate the heart, soul and labor you bring to your work.
There was a second part of the message today. In our pause we are asked to reflect on our “life purpose” and rededicate ourselves to it. If we don’t know what it is, then we can simply ask to be led there. We can ask that our next steps are on its very path. “Ask and you shall receive”. So true. Go for it.
So today we are not celebrating the ending of anything. We are celebrating the continuity of our labor and rededication to life purpose. That is the HOPE.
Bit by bit, piece by piece, hope by hope action steps anyone can take…….
-Meditate.
-What are your HOPEs and dreams? Reflect on them. Journal them
-Play. Celebrate you.
-Take in at least 10 deep breaths outdoors. They don’t all have to be at once. And it doesn’t have to be only 10.
-Drink lots of water.
-Laugh.
What made me smile yesterday……
-AJ’s a champion. Of course, we all know that. Still, it is nice to see a medal around his neck.
-We had friends, Mary and Don over for dinner. Great friends, great company. Lots of fun. Would you believe I did not have to go to the store for one thing? And dinner was still great.
-Alex and Shannon are both joyous.
-I am blessed.
Love, Blessings and Gratitude,
Chris
