For your consideration…

We have all done it and we all don’t like it when it is done to us….through the past in someone’s face. We have all brought up the past in an argument.

Our message today tells us that the past is just that. An argument or disagreement should be able to stand on its own merit. If we have to dig up the past to make a point, then perhaps our opinion is not as strong or valid as we feel it is. Or perhaps this is the wrong time to have the argument.

What is valid and true is what is in the moment we are in. We are entitled to have doubts based on past experiences. They can be the foundation of an argument. For example, that foundation being lack of trust. That is a valid. “I have questions because I don’t trust you.” That is present moment. What is past is to bring up the specifics that were already hashed out. Those are not valid to the present moment.

In an argument we need to either settle it or let it go. If we do not do that, we carry it as baggage into the future. It collects junk along the way until the real argument is obscured.  We do not need to carry those burdens around.

One more thing. Each day our message is a little reminder for each of us…myself included. This is true today as well. However, I have a very strong sense that this blog is targeting someone today. One of us today will have a need to remember it today and HOPEfully use our message….let the past incidences stay in the past and/or don’t let anyone use them against us in an argument.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take….

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Leave the past where it belongs. It no longer serves us.

What made me smile yesterday….

-A great day for a road trip.

-Dianne is a perfect fellow vacationaire extraordinaire.

-A good reminder. I stink at gambling.

-Isn’t technology great? Your phone syncs with your car so you can have perfect music and the podcasts are so fun in a road trip. No more counting “red” cars or barns etc. to pass the time. You have to have a whole new respect for our parents and their talents to keep us entertained.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
