For your consideration….

Today’s message reminded me of a conversation I had with my father-in-law, Hugh. I was complaining about the schools. He was listening and then just calmly told me, “So do something about it.”

Who? Me?

If we answer those two questions honestly, invariably the answer is “Why not me?” Am I exempt? Of course, our ego loves to jump in and tell us all the reasons why we are somehow less than qualified…why we can’t.

Listening to our ego is a recipe for self-sabotage. It is a recipe for procrastination. It is a recipe for excuses.

We are called on everyday to put our mark somewhere. We are called to action. Paralyzing ourselves with doubt and indecision is not a viable long-term solution. Answering the question with, “Why not me?” and moving forward with our best self is.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Be confident in ourselves.

What made me smile yesterday…

-Love my students.

-It did not rain all day but it did rain enough to give my newly planted herbs a good soaking.

-A good book.

-Catching up with my sister and Alex.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
