For your consideration…

There is an old Frank Sinatra song called “Love and Marriage.” In it are the lyrics, “Love and marriage go together like a horse and carriage.” That is the song that came in today but the message is different from what we might think.

There is comfort in those things that seemingly naturally go together; bacon and eggs, peanut butter and jelly, matching socks, April showers and flowers etc. You know the things that when you think about one, you automatically think of the other. And when we see something else replace the pairing, we think it odd and out of place.

It is true that sometimes opposites attract but never work out together…but sometimes they do. Sometimes those odd socks work together. Sometimes stripes and polka dots are fun and ok or even awesome.

Our message today reminds us to keep and open mind. Suspend judgement and look at the eclectic without judgment. Let it bring lightness and fun into our lives.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Celebrate creativity and difference.

What made me smile yesterday…

-My brother came up with a solution to excess water drainage in our yard.

-A great brunch with my friend Pam.

-Catching up with Alex.

-A good book.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
