Josephine Wall’s Bygone Summer

For your consideration…..

Today I was reminded of last night’s class. We do a group EFT. As we discussed where we are, we concensed that every one of us is feeling “hurried” or “rushed”. We feel like suddenly there is so much to do and so little time.  Is that how you feel too?

Everywhere we turn there are signs of fall. The vegetables are all coming in. Canning supplies are out. The beautiful sunflowers are in full bloom. The nights are cooler while the days are still hot. The advertisements are all about back-to-school supplies and clothes. Everything is there reminding us that we need to prepare for fall. So it is easy to get caught up in that pull to rush forward in preparations.

But we are being reminded to resist that pull to “rush”. We are still in the midst of the gifts of summer. The days are glorious. Enjoy them. Relax and play in them. Sleeping with the windows open is a gift. Enjoying fresh fruits and vegetables each day is a gift. Hot days and warm waters are gifts.

Don’t waste these days away by rushing through them preparing for fall. Fall will come. It always does. And we always get our preparations done. There is no need to rush summer away…to push her out the door. Savor her. Let her wind down and saunter away at her own pace. Then we can ease into fall and see all of her gifts with no regrets. That is the HOPE.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, hope by hope action steps anyone can take….

-Meditate. Slow down. Deep breaths then breathe slowly, peacefully.

-Enjoy all the day has to offer. If all you can do is be outside for 5 minutes, get the most out of them.

-Laugh

-Drink lots of water

-Call that friend that popped into your mind today.

-Run through all that you are grateful for today. Journal it if you can.

What made me smile yesterday….

-Wow, second-hand shopping for the cottage with Shannon and Jody. What fun! What treasures! How about a couch I love for $7.95. How about the wooden folding chairs I wanted for $3.00? Oh yeah, talk about getting what you wish for!

-Fun dinner with Jody and Julie. We don’t get to do it much but when we can we make the most of it. Every now and then we are reminded what friends mean to us. You don’t see them for months or years but you pick up right where you left off. That’s just the way it is with friends.

-A great class. It looked like the universe was not going to cooperate with scheduling. But patience and trust in the angels won out. It always does.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Chris
