For your consideration…

Technology is both a blessing and a curse. We more frequently hear the phrase ‘instant gratification.” Often it is in reference to the young generation but lets be honest, unless you are an older grandparent you are just as guilty. Anyone who has a smart phone, computer, microwave, Instapot etc., buys into the convenience of now.

There is nothing wrong with accepting convenience to ease daily responsibilities. It is the smart thing to do. It frees up time to do other things, pursue more opportunities, learn more etc.

So what is the down side of technology? It is when we relinquish our power to it and let it overshadow our lives. It is when we allow it to consume us and let it make decisions for us.

Today’s message tells us that sometimes, some things, some decisions are not meant to be made on the spot. Sometimes we are meant to sit with them until we gain clarity. We are meant to let them unfold until our body, mind and spirit are completely in sync.

We are asked today to be aware of our decisions and where they are coming from. Instantaneous is not always better.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE actions steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Own your decision making.

What made me smile yesterday…

-Easy and fun middle schoolers.

-Warm weather.

-My sixth graders yesterday did projects for the Chad Strong Foundation that raises awareness and funding for children with DIPG….brain tumors in young children. They made ornaments for children currently suffering with this horrific, deadly disease. They counted out donations coming in. They painted rocks to put out around Saline for people to find and HOPEfully donate. They made paper airplanes to hang at the fundraising gala. Each airplane with have the name of a child who has died from this disease. So very proud of these young people.

-Video calling with Alex, James and Moose.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
