Something You Get Through
When you lose the one you love
You think your world has ended
You think your world will be a waste of life
Without them in it
You feel there’s no way to go on
Life is just a sad, sad song
But love is bigger than us all
The end is not the end at all
It’s not somethin’ you get over
But it’s somethin’ you get through
It’s not ours to be taken
It’s just a thing we get to do
Life goes on and on
And when it’s gone
It lives in someone new
It’s not somethin’ you get over
But it’s somethin’ you get through
It’s not somethin’ you get over
But it’s somethin’ you get through
It’s not ours to be taken
It’s a thing we get to do
Life goes on and on
And when it’s gone
It lives in someone new
It’s not somethin’ you get over
But it’s somethin’ you get through
It’s not somethin’ you get over
But it’s somethin’ you get through
Songwriters: Buddy Cannon / Willie Nelson
For your consideration…
We grieve and suffer when we lose someone rather in a relationship or through death.  We pray that we “get over it.” But our message today asks us to pause and think and ask, “Is that what I really want to pray for?”
Or do I want to ask to be comforted while I go through this grief until I can get to the other side and once again celebrate the love, joy and laughter we shared? Do we instead want to ask for comfort until we can once again feel the love that we shared? Do we want to ask for comfort and help feeling that love ever present in its new state?
That is the HOPE. And so it is.
Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…
-Affirm…“I am loved.”
-Meditate/pray…ask..”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”
-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.
-Drink lots of water.
What made me smile yesterday…
-A great class.
-Dinner date with Bruce.
-Catching up with both my girls.
-A great snooze.
Love, Blessings and Gratitude,
Rev. Chris
