For your consideration…

What seems so clear is indeed hard to explain, grace and gracious. If asked, most of us would initially say we know exactly what grace is. But if we are asked to explain it, most of us would find it is complicated to explain.

Today we are going to focus on a part of the definition, “grace is the unmerited favor of God towards man.” And as part of God, our own grace and graciousness toward others.

Grace is not about turning a blind eye and free pass to anyone. Grace is about suspending judgment, taking the highest road and being gracious. Grace is the change agent.

Think about it. If we mess up, do we want it held against us forever? How would we feel if there were no chance of becoming whole again, we had no chance to grow and become better?

It is grace that lets us get past each others’ flaws and be a change agent. This is grace in its simplest form.

Grace is another tool in our life tool box. It is a tool that constantly replenishes itself. The more we use it the better we get at using it and the better people we become for it.

We are asked today to receive grace and give grace. It is the highest road.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Be gracious.

What made me smile yesterday…

-A chill out day.

-Errands done. The rain held out every time I needed it too.

-A great class reunion.

-A good book series.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
