For your consideration…

It seems like we have been reminded many times in he last few week to pay attention to what is put in front of us…thoughts, people, things etc. Yet today, I tried to override myself. I kept thinking I had it wrong. Surely the message is not from the hummingbird. I have a feeder outside the family room window. It wasn’t until they would not leave, they sat on the top of the feeder and stared in the window at me that finally I accepted it. Yikes, must do better.

In Animal-Speak by Ted Andrews we learn that Hummingbirds represent Tireless Joy and the Nectar of Life.

Hummingbirds reminds us to find the joy in what we do and hum or sing it out. Share it. Hummingbirds can move their wings in a figure 8 pattern which is the symbol of infinity. They connect us to our past, present and future and the laws of cause and effect. Hummingbirds are the only birds that can fly backwards representing pulling the joy from our past and using it in the present and future.

Hummingbirds hold the knowledge of using flowers for healing. They teach us to draw the life essence from them and create our own medicines as well as heal our hearts with love.

Hummingbirds are hard workers and fiercely independent. Females typically have two eggs (two is the number for inner self and the feminine.) This reminds us that we must give birth to our inner self and find our own joy. It is no coincidence that we are receiving this message as we come out of Mercury Retrograde and our time of self examination.

The hummingbirds hibernates at night so they remind us the importance of getting a good nights sleep and the importance of rest.

It is impossible for anyone who sits and watches the hummingbird to not be amazed. The strength, speed, acrobatics, grace of flight is a true wonder to watch. They remind us that anything is possible and through joy we can find the miracles of life.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Meditate/pray…ask..”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Find joy.

What made me smile yesterday…

-Breakfast with my friend, Carol.

-Laundry done. Wahoo.

-A little housecleaning. Wahoo.

-A good book.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
