For your consideration…

What? A sandwich? Seriously? Yup, the sandwich is used as a metaphor for today’s message. We are asked to think about sandwiches, specifically sandwiches that have the same bread. While the outside of the sandwiches are the same, the inside is not the same. What is put on the sandwich, how much, how it is prepared, is it hot or cold, spicy or not etc. There are endless possibilities to what is put on the sandwich. Think about when you go to Subway. What is on the board for choices is only the beginning. We are then asked to finish the sandwich off with toppings and dressings.

Like sandwiches we may seam alike on the surface ie; family, religion, political beliefs, jobs, hobbies, sports etc. However, as we learn more about someone, we realize that they are much more than who they seemed to be at first.

It is easy to lump someone in with a group and not see who they really are. Our message reminds us that every individual is unique. They are never that same as anyone else. Everyone has something unique to offer the world. Everyone has a specific purpose that benefits the whole.

We are asked to remember look past the “bread” and give what’s in the “sandwich” a chance.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Meditate/pray…ask..”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Check out what is beneath the surface.

What made me smile yesterday…

-A great morning.

-Jody has arrived for her yearly visit.

-Catching up with Jackie.

-BBQing and eating outside with friends.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
