For your consideration…

It is natural and normal to want people to like us. We work on it…working to be nice is a good thing.

But…there is always a but…there is a difference between true attraction and a relationship based on judgment. If we are working at making someone like us, we are working based on a judgment we think they have of us. In fact, we have made a judgment of them as well.

Today we are asked to take a step back and think about it. Anytime a relationship is based on judgment, it is not real. because judgment is inherently biased.

The bottom line of today’s message is something we were told as children and probably have told our children. I know I say it over and over with my students. “It does not matter what someone else thinks about you. It is for YOU to decide if what they are saying is right. It is up for YOU to decide if the price they are asking for friendship works for you.” We need to be who we are. We need  to be ourselves and comfortable with the shoes we walk in. Being our best self is, whoever that is, is what is best for our highest good and the highest good of all. No one can be you but you.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take….

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Be your best self.

What made me smile yesterday…

-Talking to Jackie.

-A trip to the gym.

-Crafting done.

-Sitting in the sun with a good book.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
