Getting To Know You (in part)

Songwriters: Oscar Ii Hammerstein / Richard Rodgers

It’s a very ancient saying
But a true and honest thought
That if you become a teacher
By your pupils you’ll be taught
Getting to know you
Getting to feel free and easy
When I am with you
Getting to know what to say
Haven’t you noticed
Suddenly I’m bright and breezy?
Because of all the beautiful and new
Things I’m learning about you
Day by day
For your consideration…
We have had a lot of messages come in via a song lately. I love it.
I think most of us would agree that “there is to more us than meets the eye.” We are more than what people see. Today’s message reminds us that everyone we meet probably feels exactly the same way. If we can remember that, then we can try to make a concerted effort to really get to know others, friend, foe and strangers alike. If we can make an effort to find our similarities and minimize our differences we will go a long way to make the world as we would like it to be. We have more power than we think we have.
That is the HOPE. And so it is.
Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take….
-Affirm…“I am loved.”
-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”
-Drink lots f water.
-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.
-Make a new friend.
What made me smile yesterday…
-A good nights sleep.
-A trip with my sister-in-law, Ginger, to the family cematary to plant the flowers for the year. We picked this honor up from Bruce and Ginger’s parents.
-As the tradition, lunch at Win Schuler’s on Bruce’s credit card. We do the work and he buys us lunch. That’s the tradition.
-Toes and nails done and then a trip to the gym.
Love, Blessings and Gratitude,
Rev. Chris
