“Age of Aquarius” Josephine Wall

For your consideration…

As much as I love having songs deliver our messages, I have never loved this song. I just don’t like the tune or delivery of it so I can not wait to get it out of my head. Having said that, I love the words and message of it.

Age of Aquarius (in part)
When the moon is in the Seventh House
And Jupiter aligns with Mars
Then peace will guide the planets
And love will steer the stars
This is the dawning of the age of Aquarius
Harmony and understanding
Sympathy and trust abounding
No more falsehoods or derisions
Golden living dreams of visions
Mystic crystal revelation
And the mind’s true liberation
Aquarius
When the moon is in the Seventh House
And Jupiter aligns with Mars
Then peace will guide the planets
And love will steer the stars
This is the dawning of the age of Aquarius
Let the sunshine, let the sunshine in, the sunshine in
Let the sunshine, let the sunshine in, the sunshine in
Let the sunshine, let the sunshine in, the sunshine in
Oh, let it shine, c’mon
Now everybody just sing along
Let the sun shine in
Open up your heart and let it shine on in
When you are lonely, let it shine on
Got to open up your heart and let it shine on in
And when you feel like you’ve been mistreated
And your friends turn away
Just open your heart, and shine it on in
Songwriters: Galt Mac Dermot / James Rado / Gerome Ragni
These beautiful words and thoughts have been around since 1967. So…how do YOU think we are doing?
We are reminded today that anger and hate in thought, word and deed are never the direction that will take us to where we need to be. We are reminded to open our hearts and let the light of love shine in and radiate out. We are reminded to remove ourselves from all that would put out that light ie; people, media, organizations etc. If it is not shining light on 0ur soul, it is not good for us….period.
Be the change.
That is the HOPE. And so it is.
Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…
-Affirm…“I am loved.” “I am love.”
-Drink lots of water.
-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”
-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.
What made me smile yesterday…
-A fun science experiment with my 5th graders.
-A good book.
-Quick running of errands.
-An early bedtime.
Love, Blessings and Gratitude,
Rev. Chris
