For your consideration….

I love today’s message. I for one can have trouble saying “no.” I love to get things done. I love to problem solve. I love to help. I bet many of you feel the same way.

Our message today reminds us that we have to prioritize according to our own life purpose. We have a purpose and spreading ourselves too thin weakens us and keeps us from being the best we can be. It is like putting your own oxygen mask on first in a plane emergency.

Mom’s also understand that as tough as it can be, we have to be able to say “no” to our children. It is our children’s job to push limits. It is how they grow. It is up to parents to determine the limits they are old enough and capable enough of handling. Sometimes we have to firmly say “no.”

Sometimes we have to say “no” to ourselves. We have to say “no” to things that are unhealthy for us ie; too much liquor, food, being a couch potato etc.

Our message today tells us that “no” is not a dirty word.  “No” is not negative when its intention is positive just as “yes” is not always positive. It is the intention that makes either what they are. Use “no” to counterbalance “yes” when it is working against us or is not in the highest good of all.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Remember that “no” is a tool in your life tool box.

What made me smile yesterday….

-A very sunny and warm beautiful day.

-A beautiful moon.

-A beautiful mowed lawn.

-A fun afternoon with kindergartners. They have come soooo far.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
