For your consideration….
Today’s message encourages us to listen to one another…really listen. We are asked to listen above all the rhetoric. We are asked to listen without preconceived ideas or “boxes.” We are asked to listen above the shouting. We are asked to listen above what others are saying or what they say they are hearing. We are asked to rise above and just listen with an open heart and feel what one another is saying.
Consider music. Above it all, we are all dancing to a beat. We dance to all kinds of beats in all different kinds of music. Some we like, some we don’t but we listen and find a beat we can move to…together. Sometimes it is ours and sometimes it is theirs.
In higher listening we can find our commonality. we can find consensus. We can find truth. We can find what matters and what is not worth our energy.
That is the HOPE. And so it is.
Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take….
-Affirm…“I am loved.”
-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”
-Drink lots of water.
-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.
-Practice higher listening. Listen with your best self.
What made me smile yesterday….
-I had a wonderful, fun class of 3rd graders.
-A picture perfect beautiful day.
-Rather than the gym, I took my dog to the park for our walk. He loves to go but poops out rather quickly. He makes me laugh.
-A good book.
