For your consideration….

Given a choice, most of us on any given day, would choose a straight path to our tasks and goals; no traffic jams, no unexpected complications, no additions etc.

But life is full of twists and turns. If we think about it, it would be pretty boring without the unexpected and uninvited. If we pause and think about it we can all think of a time where an event had to be moved. Disappointment was replaced when the event turned out better on the new date. Or because we were home instead of being gone we were there when another event showed up ie; family emergency, party, out-of-town guests etc.

I worked with a teacher who went in for a heart issue only to find out he had a curable kidney cancer. While he was originally distressed over the heart issue, it became a blessing because the kidney cancer would  have never exhibited symptoms until it was in its advanced stages. Caught early it was easily curable.

How many times have we gotten lost only to find something new; a store, park, event, people etc.  Our “lost” became a special “find.”

Perhaps our friend drags up to go somewhere with her. We don’t want to go but she doesn’t want to go alone. We get there find that we dreaded it for nothing. We love it. There is something there for us. We were meant to be there.

We usually don’t plan twists and turns. They show up. We are asked to pause and think about them in a new way. Rather than be disappointed, disgusted, angry, worried etc., think about them as blessings. Think about them as blessings chosen especially for us. Rather than be disappointed be excited.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take….

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Welcome twists and turns. Ask why?

What made me smile yesterday….

-A great 5th grade class. Soooo easy.

-Much needed rain.

-Urgent care was pretty quick.

-Unexpected dinner with Shannon.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
