Pieces (in part)

Writer(s): Matt Serletic, Robert Thomas

Now and then there’s a light in the darkness
Feel around till you find where your heart went
There’s a weight in the air but you can’t see why, why

Didn’t I tell you you were gonna break down
Didn’t I want you, everybody wants you
Tell me what you’re needing, give into your bleeding
Never any feeling for yourself

We build it up, we tear it down
We leave our pieces on the ground
We see no end, we don’t know how
We are lost and we’re falling
Hold onto me
You’re all I have, all I have
Hold onto me
You’re all I have, all I have

For your consideration….

There are a few parts to our message today.

Things break. People break. Relationships break. This is life. But our breaks are not the end. There is always more. There is light in the darkness. If we can not see it, then we “feel” for it. We can feel for the heart, spirit or hand of that can because even though we may feel like we are alone, we are not. We are never alone.

The next part of our message is that we all build things up and tear things down. We have a piece of it. Our challenge is to do more and more building and less and less tearing down. It is a learning process. Remember the line in the Prayer of Jabez we had a few weeks ago, “that  your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil that I may not cause pain!” We all have the ability to cause pain, intentionally or not. Being present and aware minimizes our risk of doing harm. Being present and aware allows us to make good choices.

Our final part of our message reminds us that we have each other. If we choose we can be the lifeline to building someone up be it for a moment or lifetime. Our HOPE can be the vehicle that transcends others from darkness to light, from despair to their own HOPE.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take….

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?” We can/should ask this question many time a day.

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Grab on to those who seek you

What made me smile yesterday….

-A beautiful, perfect weather day.

-Lots of computer work done ie; class reunion, book, email etc.

-A great reiki session. I slept better than I have since I can remember.

-Catching up with Alex.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
