For your consideration….

For today’s message I was reminded of living in Poland. Not long before the Polish people had finally received their freedom. While the Poland had been part of the Allies, when the war ended Russia was allowed to force them into Communism. Even though they suffered for decades their spirit was never crushed. Their HOPE was never lost. And their priorities never wavered from what they had always been; God, country, family, self…in that order.

We are reminded today what our authentic self knows, home always must be defended. Without our home with God, our home country, our home and our family there is nothing.

Our ego would have us choose it. It would have us change our priorities. It would place its opinions, self-worth, wants and needs above all else. It’s sense of entitlement places it above God and above country. It forgets that without them it would be crushed.

Today we celebrate the birth of the United States of America and the freedom she allows. May we continue to ask God to bless her. May we continue to keep her prioritized and serve and protect her. May we remember how blessed we are to be able to call her home.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take….

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Have fun celebrating our country’s birthday. Happy 4th of July.

-Thank you and send blessings to those who serve, have served and those who gave the ultimate sacrifice.

What made me smile yesterday…..

-Catching up with Jackie on my trip north.

-Great minds think alike. I ran into friends at the gas station filling up for their trip south.

-A great visit with my Uncle Harold and Jeanne. We visited the cemetery and he showed me where different parts of our family are. We visited the old County Farm my great grandparents ran and also the farm that both sets of grandparents owned at one time or another.

-A little shopping in Lexington.

-Having dinner with friends….friends of our Mother’s. It is always fun.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
