For your consideration….

….you don’t have to jump on the bandwagon.

Today’s message is simple and comes in light-hearted. If you are not up to it, don’t do it. If you don’t believe in something, maintain your own beliefs. If you If you think something is wrong, don’t go along with it. If you think something is dumb, pass on it. If you think something is a waste of your time, use your time wisely in a different way.

You get the picture. If you don’t like or agree with the bandwagon, don’t jump on it. Do what fits you; your core values, beliefs, life style etc.

Let me give you an example. I substitute teach and I love it. Sure there are some tough days but overwhelmingly they are positive, productive and rewarding. In the last few years there has been a trend to not stand for the Pledge of Alliegiance. By law students do not have to. But it is upsetting to me. I take it very personally. The key being to me. I resent the disrespect. I resent trend…the band wagon. When I realized this, I also remembered that I had a choice. We always have a choice. I chose to stop working at those schools. Problem solved.

Our message is simple. If you don’t like the bandwagon, don’t jump on it. We can choose to do that.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…..

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Choose your bandwagon.

What made me smile yesterday….

-My young fives.

-Some of them like to make me things. Yesterday Brynn made me a card. I thanked her and told her I couldn’t wait to show Mr. Adams. He always likes to see what my students make me. Brynn didn’t miss a beat, “Oh, I’ll make one for him too.” She did and he loved it, especially the star she put over him.

-The weather looked threatening but every time we wanted to go out, it was perfect.

-Dinner with Julie.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
