For your consideration….

I’m pretty sure my Mom had something to do with today’s message. She used to use the phrase, “hell-bent for election” all of the time. Still having heard her say it so much, I wasn’t really sure I knew what it meant. I thought I did but figured I better look it up this morning. It means, “so determined as to be regardless of the consequences, even hell itself.

I’m going to admit that I am a pretty determined person and at least one of my daughters is as well. The other is more measured and even keel. They know which one they are.

So what is the problem? Determination is great….right? Let’s make a plan and see it through. Nothing wrong with that…right?  Of course, determination to a plan is good. But it is like everything else, there must be balance.

I picked the above picture because it is a great example of today’s message. We can be so focused on seeing the forest, the big trees, we can miss the HOPE and determination that is laid at their/our feet.

Our message today tells us that we must not be so determined to our plan that we can not see the blessings, tools, guidance that is put in front of us. We are never meant to be so determined that we can not see what is laid at our feet. We need to notice and ask questions and “follow the thread (lead)” a little ways and see where we are being lead.

You see, we are not alone….ever. We have Guidance walking with us 24/7 whether we asked them to join us or not. So why not engage them? Why not ask the questions? Who, what or why is this put in front of me right now? Is it to deter me to a better path? Is it to get me to lighten up and chuckle a bit? Is it asking me to slow down and/or be more patient? Is it something that I need to make my plan succeed?

There are no coincidences….ever. We are simply reminded today to notice and consider what is put in our path. It is good. It is all good.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take….

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water. It helps cleanse and clarify.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Notice.

What made me smile yesterday…..

-I love the new owners that are now blessed with Stillwater.

-A warm sunny day.

-Dinner out at our club with Bruce and Carol.

-Catching up with Jackie and Cathy.

-Sleeping with the windows wide open for the first time this Spring.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
