For your consideration…..

Today’s message is about inspiration. It has two parts.

We often talk about being inspired. Inspiration is a big thing. It is the often the push we need to move forward, to make change, to get determined, to take a chance, to see things differently, to get motivated etc.

Our message today tells us that we often look to the big and/or exceptional for our inspiration. However, the real inspiration is all around us. It is the confidence and determination of that ant pictured above. It is in my persistence of the chives on my back porch that have sprouted, been beaten down by the snow and ice only to stand back up again. Inspiration is the mother and father geese that stop the traffic (one at the front and one at the back) protecting their goslings. It is in the innocence of a young child’s questions that remind of us HOPE and love. It is in the faith of believers. Inspiration surrounds us each and every day if we choose to see and feel it.

The second part of our message reminds us to BE inspiration for others. To do that, perhaps we have to shift how we think about ourselves. If that is the case then we must do that because our children depend on it. All to often our children are looking for their inspiration in athletes, TV shows, actors/actresses, electronics…people, places and things….far removed from the reality of their everyday lives. And all too often not worthy of our children’s admiration. We need to teach our children to look closer at what surrounds them in the reality of their lives and be inspired from that.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take….

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Be inspired while you are out there.

What made me smile yesterday…..

-It is set Jody is coming in August.

-I finally made it in to get my hair done.

-License plate tags bought….albeit late.

-Dinner out with Bob and Bruce.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
