For your consideration….

While this is a message that we can all learn from, my sense is that it is very targeted for someone today. I don’t know who that person is but they will know when they read it. Blessings.

Many people cross our paths. Many people are involved in our journey. The time they spend with us may only be a moment, a lifetime and everything in between.

Like with everything else, we should hold no judgment. We need our relationships to be what they want and need to be. Not everyone is here to be our friend and we should not knock ourselves out trying to make them be. “Kill them with kindness?” Maybe, but that does not need they are meant to be our friend or that their friendship will benefit our life’s journey.

People may join our journey many different reasons. Maybe they are meant to be the crux of a problem we are meant to solve. Maybe they are meant to show us something…be an example… and then be on their way. Maybe they are meant to teach us a life lesson.

Sometimes this is very clear to us. We know that the person who smiled and held the door for us is probably not meant to be in our life for anything longer than that moment. Their purpose was to remind us to smile, we are valued and/or to do good deeds etc. It is much harder to let people in our life go when they have been there for a while. It is harder when we try to win a friendship and it is not reciprocated or when friendship is offered and it is not a relationship we want. Our wants and needs are vastly different. Our message today tells us that is OK. It is all good. Trust your “gut.” It knows what needs to be done.

For the person who this message is for…..whoever you are….Quit trying to win that person over. They are simply not meant to share your journey. It is all good. They would be a drain on your energy and detour in your journey.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take….

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Value all your relationships for exactly what they are and are supposed to be.

What made me smile yesterday….

-Deana Pena, a teacher I team taught with, brought me cupcakes for my birthday. What a great surprise to start my day!

-Lots of birthday wishes.

-Another warm and beautiful day. Any Michigan February day that I only have to wear a sweater is a good day for me.

-Dinner out with Bruce and Bob is always good for a laugh or two, three, four….

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
