For your consideration….

We want to be good. We are here to do good. So what is the problem? It is the weeds. They are everywhere. They grow indiscriminately wherever they choose. Unless we are proactive and lay down weed guard and pull them at their roots, they can take over.

Like our gardens, our body, mind and soul need our constant attention. There are weeds everywhere. Some we readily recognize and some we do not. But they are there and ready to invade. Complacency, political correctness, ignorance, laziness, verbal and physical abuse etc. are all weeds. Sometimes we recognize them but sometimes we do not. Sometimes we aggressively attack them. Sometimes we choose to ignore them.

We all know that without due diligence, weeds will take over. We also all know that it is better to take care of them on a regular basis versus letting them get out of control and then having to do the weeding. We also know that prevention is the best course of action.

Today’s message is about “weed” prevention. We are reminded to lay down some “weed guard” between our ego and authentic self.

Where do we get this weed guard? We have to weave it ourselves. We find the threads we need in the silence, our faith, our love, our HOPE, our charity. We discipline ourselves to spend time weaving it everyday making it stronger and more weed resistance. And we commit to weeding everyday. That is how we grow a strong beautiful and fruitful spiritual garden that is our soul.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take….

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Get rid of the weeds.

What made me smile yesterday….

-A great school with great students.

-Warmer weather. No need for boots.

-Catching up with Cathy and Alex.

-An unexpected early release day. Nice surprise.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
