For your consideration….

A strong work ethic, strong morals and determination to do the right thing are wonderful. We work hard to accomplish being a good productive person.

Today’s message tells us that we need to acknowledge and reward ourselves. More than that, we need to love ourselves. To some of us that may see selfish but it is not. Loving ourselves is like anything else. It attracts more love to us. Not loving ourselves is like putting up an invisible force field around us that keeps love away.

Recently in my women’s circle, we talked about loving ourselves. It seemed like each of us had recently come across something that encouraged self-love. I had seen an article that recommended really looking at yourself when you pass a mirror and tell yourself that your love “you.” My friend said that in her “mindfulness” class they talked about placing a hand over your heart when you are stressed and letting yourself know that you are loved and/or hugging yourself.

Our message today acknowledges all of the above but it goes further. It asks that we pause and think about what we love to do the most. Is it a walk in the woods, sit with a good book, a cup of coffee and visit with a friend etc.? What is it that chills us out and comforts us? We need to identify those things and reward ourselves regularly. Putting ourselves last benefits no one least of all ourselves.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…..

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Reward yourself on a regular basis.

What made me smile yesterday….

-Note to self….the little ones do not even notice the weather. They have fun no matter what.

-A very funny Amazon Echo commercial. I laugh out loud every time I see it.

-Shopping done.

-Joy in the little things. They are hard to miss when you see them through the eyes of the children.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
