Loneliness
Two Less Lonely People in The World
(Air Supply)
I was down my dreams were wearing thin
When you’re lost, where do you begin
My heart always seemed to drift from day to day
Looking for the love that never came my way
Then you smiled and I reached out to you
I could tell you were lonely too
One look then it all began for you and me
The moment that we touched, I knew that there would be
Two less lonely people in the world
And it’s gonna be fine
Out of all the people in the world
I just can’t believe you’re mine
In my life where everything was wrong
Something finally went right
Now there’s two less lonely people
In the world tonight
Just to think what I might have missed
Looking back how did I exist
I dreamed, still I never thought I’d come this far
But miracles come true, I know ’cause here we are
Two less lonely people in the world
And it’s gonna be fine
Out of all the people in the world
I just can’t believe you’re mine
In my life where everything was wrong
Something finally went right
Now there’s two less lonely people
In the world tonight
Tonight I fell in love with you
And all the things I never knew
Seemed to come to me somehow
Baby, love is here and now there’s
Two less lonely people in the world
And it’s gonna be fine
Out of all the people in the world
I just can’t believe you’re mine
In my life where everything was wrong
Something finally went right
Now there’s two less lonely people
Two less lonely people
Two less lonely people
In the world tonight
Two less lonely people in the world
And it’s gonna be fine
Out of all the people in the world
I just can’t believe you’re mine
In my life where everything was wrong
Something finally went right
Now there’s two less lonely people
In the world tonight
Ahhhh, a song I recognize. My mental model always thought of this song as a romantic love song. But that is very shallow thinking for something that encompasses everything.
Love, in thought, word, and deed alters everything. It dilutes loneliness.
At the core of loneliness is a reluctance to reach out to others. Reaching out to even one person can be a monumental and pivotal event.
Our message today reminds us that loneliness is curable. All we have to do is reach out to one another signaling that we notice and care.
Reach out.
That is the HOPE.
Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take….
-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”
-Drink lots of water.
-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths. Notice Mother Earth. Think about what it takes to orchestrate all of that beauty. Think of the power and wisdom behind it all.
-Reach out to someone you suspect needs it.
What made me smile yesterday…..
-Talking to my sister.
-Another beautiful day at Stillwater.
-Lots of energy.
-Sitting on Stillwater’s deck and chatting with neighbors. We have a new one across the canal…a retired Marine taking care of his dad.
Love, Blessings and Gratitude,
Rev. Chris
