For your consideration….

Today’s message is about being authentic….in all things….big and small. Mean what you say and do…be authentic.

How often do we simply respond to a greeting or well-wish by just repeating it back like a parrot. We do it without eye contact and without sincerity. Let’s think about it for a moment. Do we really think the other person doesn’t notice? How do we think we make them feel? Certainly not special. Certainly we have not touched their heart. Certainly we have not put a blessing out to the Universe for them.

Today’s message tells us not to engage another person unless we are prepared to be authentic, unless we are ready to mean what you say or do. Let’s pause and think again. Does it take extra time to make eye contact with our responses, while having a conversation, holding a door etc.? Does it take any extra time to engage our authentic self, speak from our heart, offer well-wishes from our heart, greetings from our heart etc.?

We are told today that platitudes don’t cut it. We diminish our selves and others when we use them. While we search for big ways we can change the world, we are reminded of the pebble in the pond. Each blessing, well-wishes, greeting from our authentic self ripples throughout the Universe. Each one is a counter of lightness that refuses to let the darkness prevail.

“Speak from the heart and the world will listen.”

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take….

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths. Better yet go for a walk.

-Be authentic.

What made me smile yesterday…..

-I got to school for subbing for a half day for a teacher who had a meeting. When I got to school, I found out the meeting had been canceled by the parents. The principal was scrambling to find where they could use me. I quickly responded, “I’m on my way to my cottage as soon as I leave here. No need to feel bad. I am excited to be able to get there even earlier and have more of the day there.” I meant it. I was authentic and they knew it. It was a win/win for all of us.

-Peace for Charlie and all of his loved ones.

-Catching up with Lori, Alex and Jackie.

-My neighbor needed a ride to the market. It was in the in the next city over so I would not normally go there but “wow.” They had great prices, was smaller and easy to maneuver throughout and it was very clean.

-Lots of writing done.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
