For your consideration….

I absolutely love taking something old and/or discarded and making it new or repurposed. My cottage, Stillwater, is furnished almost entirely of things from our basement and resale shops. Very few things are new.

Today’s message tells us that it isn’t just “things” that can be made new or repurposed. We often are reminded that the past is gone and we need to be living in this moment and making this moment the best it can be. But every one of us has those feelings, attitudes, mistakes, emotions etc. that creep into our present. Indeed, therapy is often about digging them up and “dealing” with them.

Our message tells us that we can deal with old feelings, emotions, attitudes etc. by making them new or repurposing them. How? When they creep up rather than seeking to rebury them, brush off the old judgment and take a fresh look and repurpose them. We might ask what we learned or who or where would we be if the experience, emotions or attitudes had been different or never happened at all. Remember, withhold the judgment that we labeled and defined the experience with in the first place. Look with fresh eyes and spirits.

If we can repurpose the memory and acknowledge the benefits, experience and growth we got from it, we can successfully let it go. If we find that we can not make it new or repurpose it, then we need to bless it and let it go for healing. We no longer need to keep it or rebury it.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take….

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Relax, chill, laugh and be merry.

What made me smile yesterday….

-Tigers won.

-Lots of tasks done.

-An easy ride home. I thought I’d beat the bad weather. I didn’t but it wasn’t too bad.

-Catching up with my Sis, Lori.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
