For your consideration…..

Perhaps you are wondering what the above picture of the Tlingit Native Americans from Alaska have to do with today’s message about balance.

The core beliefs of the Tlingit is balance. They believe that everything is give and take and that everything is alive. For everything you take you give something back whether it involves people, nature, work, spirit etc.

At first look the give and take may not seem balanced. For example, they might give away a prized possession to someone who did a seemingly small deed for them. But you have to look deeper, you have to look at the “intention” of the deed. You have to look at the spirit of the intention. And you have to look at the feelings invoked in the receiver…what it meant to receive the gift.

As we pursue our life purpose, we are reminded to keep our life in balance. Often we hear quotes about keeping our work and home life in balance but balance is much deeper than that. We can learn from those Tlingit living according to their native culture. We can also learn from the Bible in Luke 12:48: “For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required.”

Balance is a give and take keeping the spirit of intention at the core of them.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take….

-Meditate/pray….ask….”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water. It is good for the body, mind and spirit.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Work for balance.

What made me smile yesterday…..

-Some editing done.

-A PJ day.

-Joy.

-Feeling blessed.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
