For your consideration…

What I want, what I see, what I need, what I hear, what I feel…..is not the same as anyone else.

We know this, right? All that is the same is at the same time vastly different. A daisy is a daisy, an oak tree is an oak tree, a golden retriever is a golden retriever, a person is a person but we know that nothing is exactly the same.

I often point out to my students when they get an independent writing assignment to respect each others space. When we talk, we may interrupt the thought process of our neighbor causing them to lose what they were thinking. We can not do another’s thinking for them and they can’t do ours.

Our wants and needs are different. We were designed to be different. We are perfect for the life we are here to live…..each and every one of us.

We know this. So why are we shouting at one another? Why are we telling each other who they should listen to and who they should not? Why are we calling each other names? Why are we attacking those who are different? What makes us think we know what is better for our fellow human being than they do?

There is a reason that each and every blog each day starts with “for your consideration.” I am sure that every blog does not resonate with every reader every day. That is out of my control. My obligation is to deliver the message and trust that who needs it will find it and read it. Again, who it reaches and how they got to it, is out of my control.

Our message today tells us that we are different by design. Our difference is no accident. It is something to celebrate and bind us not divide us.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…..

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Uniquely “you” is all good.

What made me smile yesterday…..

-An easy day with great students.

-The traffic jam I have endured all week was non-existent yesterday.

-Catching up with Jackie and Alex.

-A great dinner cooked by me.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
