For your consideration….

I need to hear you. You need to hear me. We need to listen and hear each other.

In countries of free speech, how could we have gotten so far off track? Who would ever have thought we would have riots preventing people from trying to hear someone(s) speak? All too often we “listen to reply.” Even worse we listen and attach labels to the speaker ie; stupid, pro this, anti that, liberal, right-wing, mean, lazy, overbearing, loud, meek etc. etc. etc.

Almost all of us would say we are not perfect. No one is, far from it. It stands to reason that one person’s deficit is another’s strength. Everyone has opinions and ideas. Today’s message tells us that the minute we attach labels to someone we are, in essence, putting in earplugs and can no longer hear what the speaker is saying.

Once we attach labels, we can not longer hear the real intention and feeling of the speaker. We no longer get valued opinions and information. We are stuck with our own, perfect and imperfect as they are. We stunt our own growth.

We are asked to respect each other and listen to what they have to say.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take….

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Listen without labeling.

What made me smile yesterday…..

-A day off.

-Lots of tasks done.

-A new recipe.

-Spending time with Mac.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
