Home (in part) by Phillip Phillips

Settle down, it’ll all be clear
Don’t pay no mind to the demons
They fill you with fear
The trouble it might drag you down
If you get lost, you can always be found

Just know you’re not alone
‘Cause I’m gonna make this place your home

For your consideration……

Home….pause…..think…..what images, feelings, longings, memories etc. immediately come to you?

Our home, our sanctuary, is unique to each of us but its purpose is not. Every single one of us needs a safe space to let our thoughts go and just be “me.” We need a place where we can laugh, pout, cry and yes, even be a big b_ _ _ _h if we need to. We need a place where we can sort things out and regroup.

I can count on a laugh from my husband every day I get home from work. He gets a quick “hi” and the next time he sees me I am in my pj’s. It doesn’t matter if you are a baby or a senior, getting into your “jammies” feels good. It is a signal that you are at home and can just “be.”

We are reminded today that we need our home, our sanctuary, to be full of love, peace and joy. When we hit tough times, these in the safety and shelter of our home, will pull us through.

Do a quick assessment. How is “home” doing? Is there anything we need to adjust or fix? Is there anything that is keeping us from feeling awesome at home? Is there anything upstaging peace, love and joy? If so, take steps to fix it. If not, take time to be grateful.

Take care of home. It is worth the investment. We should always feel excited to go home.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…..

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths,.

-Be grateful for home. Take care of home.

What made me smile yesterday…..

-Awesome 3rd graders. Their teacher told me they are a “challenging” class. Yet they were awesome. Hmmmm maybe there is something to getting what you expect.

-In the afternoon I had 2nd graders, and once again they were also great.

-I’m staying with my Mac and AJ for a long weekend. Soooo fun. Soooo nice.

-Hearing from Alex. Her training and testing went very well and she is getting set for her Japan trip tomorrow. So is soooo excited.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
