For your consideration….

Pruning helps trees and shrubs stay healthy. We prune away growth that is taking away nutrients from the main trunk so that it might grow stronger and healthier. Pruning is an analogy for today’s message.

In life we get involved in all kinds of things that we take on tasks for. Some of it is good because we came to a fork in the road and discovered a new path that we needed to take to fulfill our life purpose. However, some of these forks we took may have been a brief diversion. There may have been something we needed to learn or a a person we needed to meet but we know this is not our path and we need to get off of it. We need to prune it away and the tasks involved with it so that we have more to give our main path to grow it stronger and healthier.

Pruning away the parts of our life that need to go is not selfish. It is necessary for our health and growth.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take….

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Pay attention to those task you do for various people and organizations that you really dread. Is it time to prune them away?

What made me smile yesterday…..

-A great class of 2nd graders. Leaving I ran into a student who was telling his dad about our day. I asked if something was wrong. The dad responded, “No, he was saying they had a good day. It is a relief because we don’t usually have a good day when there is a sub.” I’ll take that as a compliment.

-There is a sub shortage. The school was unable to get a sub and pulled the gym teacher into a classroom meaning my class was not able to have PE. How lucky for us!. We rearranged our schedule and added our PE time to PM recess. We got to stay outside on an absolutely perfect day for almost an hour. I’ll count that as a blessing.

-I put on a pot of soup yesterday morning and let it cook all day. It was soooo good. And it felt great to come home and have dinner ready.

-Going to bed early and waking up at 2:00 AM and realizing I had 4 more hours to sleep.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
