For your consideration…..

Once again, this is a message I didn’t want to write. Once again, I asked for a different one. This blog is about love and HOPE so I stay away from anything people can take as political. Once again, the message given remained the same and as I think about it, my reluctance, is in fact what the message is about.

We have freedom of speech. It is a blessing. But it is not free if we can not voice a concern or opinion.

Do you remember your parent declining a request from you and your response being; “You are unfair.” “You hate me.” “You don’t trust me.” “You are mean.” etc.? Of course, the parent realizes this is just a diversion tactic. It is a last-ditch effort of guilt to try to sway the parent. It is not true and the reality is, it has nothing to do with the request.

I use that simple example for today’s message. Even as an angry child you knew that your parents’ response had nothing what-so-ever to do with their love of you and your admiration of them was not diminished. And so it is, or at least as it should, be between adults and citizens.

We should be able to voice a question or concern without being labeled a bigot, racist, selfish, entitled, greedy, heartless, cheater, etc. Politically Correct (PC) is rampant in this country. More and more people, citizens, are reluctant to voice their concerns because they are immediately labeled, even though their intentions are pure of heart and their intentions loving and HOPEful. Just as children, labeling someone diverts the discussion to that and away from the issue.

Our question today is this. If we can not talk with love and respect for one another, how can we solve world problems? What good is freedom of speech if we do not have enough faith, trust and love for one another to use it?

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…..

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Speak your truth from a pure and loving heart.

What made me smile yesterday….

-The determination of one little puppy.

-My happy grandkids and daughters.

-A miraculous recovery.

-A Happy Anniversary.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
